Pete Westall

Pete Westall is the Chief Values Officer for The Midcounties Co-operative. As a lifelong Co-operator, Pete passionately believes that businesses have a responsibility to the communities in which they trade. That passion is now reflected in the role he has held for the last 5 years, Executive accountability for all aspects of the Midcounties Coop Social and Environmental impact work, helping the Society build a fairer, more sustainable and ethical future on behalf of their 700,000 member owners. Pete has also been Chair of the Board of Bright Future Co-op on a voluntary basis since its formation in June 2020. The Co-op has over 30 organisational members, including Midcounties, Co-op Group, Currys, Morrisons, Sophie Hayes Foundation and Hope for Justice & was formed to help fast-track survivors of modern slavery into stable, high-quality employment.

He was named Co-operator of the Year by Co-op UK, the apex body of all 7,500 Co-operative Societies, in 2021 in recognition of his work across the movement, particularly during Covid.
