Paul Simpson
Paul Simpson is the founder and Commercial Director of Food Circle Supermarket Ltd, an online surplus food retailer based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Working with some of the largest snacking brands in the UK, Food Circle purchases surplus food (e.g. short Best Before Date), and sells it to their community of over 100,000 customers across the UK, delivered directly to their doors at over half of the normal retail price.
After founding the retailer in 2017 with just £2,000, Paul & Food Circle Supermarket have saved over 8 million products from potentially going to waste, and built a loyal, environmentally focused customer base.
In 2021, Paul was recognised by Forbes Magazine by being listed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe List, for creating a pioneering solution to surplus food waste in the retail sector, experiencing rapid organic growth.
In 2022, Paul became a voluntary Enterprise Advisor at Seven Hills SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) School in Sheffield, where he works closely with the board, and with Sheffield City Council, to help create more employment opportunities and experiences for young adults with a SEND across the Sheffield region.
Paul is also regular guest lecturer at Sheffield City College, where he introduces aspiring entrepreneurs to the world of Entrepreneurship.
