Mark’s ambition was always to be a farmer, but coming from a non-farming family, this was always going to be a challenge. Mark followed his dreams and set up a small free range chicken and turkey growing enterprise which soon grew into a business due to the high welfare free range and organic farming system he pioneered. The business went from strength to strength and as public demand grew for Marks special birds the supermarkets started to stock them. Always looking for a new challenge Mark set upon developing a brand new breed of chicken that not only thrived in the farming systems he developed but offered the end consumer a bird with unrivalled taste and texture. The Norfolk Black Chicken was launched into exclusive supermarkets and high quality restaurants and demand continues to outstrip supply.
Today, Mark’s business Traditional Norfolk Poultry, is the leading supplier of Free Range and Organic Chickens and Turkeys into the UK’s Retail Sector and operates from farms across East Anglia with a central processing and packing facility in Norfolk.
