John Grogan was MP for Selby from 1997-2010 and for Keighley from 2017-2019. He currently chairs the Mongolian British Chamber of Commerce . From 2013-2015 he chaired Hatfield Colliery which was an employee owned company and was the second last deep coal mine to close in the United Kingdom . A a young man John worked for Wolverhampton Borough Council , Leeds City Council and the European Parliament . He was the first President of Oxford University Student Union to be elected on a Labour Party platform . A keen follower of Bradford City he is a member of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
