Ian Paisley MP for North Antrim for the Democratic Unionist party. Was first elected in 1996 to the Northern Ireland Forum and then returned from 1997-2010 to the Northern Ireland Assembly where he held ministerial office. He was elected to Parliament in 2010 and is a senior member of the Democratic Unionist party. 

Ian Paisley was a peace negotiator for his party during the peace process that resulted in the historic agreement at St Andrews where his Father Dr Ian Paisley, the founder of the DUP, agreed to share power with Sinn Fein Leader Martin McGuinness. 

In parliament Ian Paisley has been a member of the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee, the Joint Committee on Refurbishment of the House, the Speakers Advisory Committee on Security. 

He is currently a member of the Speakers Panel and a member of the speakers Committee on Remembrance.  

He has introduced two private Members Bills this term. One on Access to Data for Next of Kin and one on Referenda Majorities. 

He is an active member of the all party groups on motor sports and chairs the motorbike all party group. He was Northern Irelands Independent Chairman of the Motorsport Taskforce. 

He is married and has four grown up children and one grandson. He lives in Northern Ireland and commutes to London
